Updated: 27 October 2026
If you have been searching for Daily Lotto Plus results or wondering why Daily Lotto Plus has disappeared from South Africa's National Lottery, there is an important change you need to know about.
Daily Lotto Plus was discontinued at the end of May 2026. The final draw took place on Sunday, 31 May 2026, before Sizekhaya Holdings became the new National Lottery operator on 1 June 2026.
The good news for existing Daily Lotto customers is that the main South African Daily Lotto continues, using the familiar five-number format, with draws normally taking place every evening.
A new system-entry option called Daily Lotto MultiPlay 1 (MP1) also allows customers to select six numbers and cover six different five-number combinations in one draw.
But is MP1 a replacement for Daily Lotto Plus? Does it provide a second draw? How much does it cost, and what are the odds of winning?
This MagicLotto guide explains the current 2026 Daily Lotto rules, the discontinued Plus game, MP1 combinations, prize divisions and how to check the latest winning numbers.
Is Daily Lotto Plus Still Available in South Africa?
No. Daily Lotto Plus is no longer available.
Daily Lotto Plus was an additional draw linked to the main Daily Lotto game. Customers could use the same selected numbers to participate in a separate draw for an additional cost.
The game ended after the draw on 31 May 2026.
From 1 June 2026, the new National Lottery operating arrangements introduced several changes to South Africa's lottery products.
Some games were renamed. For example, Lotto Plus 2 became Lotto 5 Max, while PowerBall Plus became PowerBall Xtra.
Daily Lotto Plus was different: it was removed rather than renamed.
The main Daily Lotto remains available, but there is no current second Daily Lotto Plus draw.
What Replaced Daily Lotto Plus in 2026?
Daily Lotto Plus has no direct replacement.
The current Daily Lotto game offers a MultiPlay 1 option, but MP1 is not the same as the discontinued Plus game.
Daily Lotto Plus provided a separate draw using the customer's existing selected numbers.
Daily Lotto MP1 instead generates multiple combinations for the same main Daily Lotto draw.
| Feature | Daily Lotto Plus | Daily Lotto MP1 |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Discontinued | Current option |
| Separate draw | Yes | No |
| Numbers selected | Same five as main entry | Six numbers |
| Combinations | One entry in an additional draw | Six entries in the main draw |
| Available after May 2026 | No | Yes |
The distinction matters because customers should understand whether they are purchasing an additional draw or additional number combinations in the same draw.
How Does South African Daily Lotto Work in 2026?
The main Daily Lotto number-selection format remains five numbers from 1 to 36.
Customers can select their own numbers or use Quick Pick to generate a random valid combination.
Five winning numbers are selected in the official draw. There is no separate Bonus Ball.
To win the Division 1 prize, a standard entry must match all five winning numbers.
- Number format: 5 numbers from 1 to 36.
- Official standard entry price: R3 per line.
- Draw frequency: Normally every evening.
- Scheduled draw time: 21:00 SAST.
- Prize divisions: Four.
- Jackpot odds: 1 in 376,992 per standard line.
- Current system option: MultiPlay 1.
Official draw schedules may have exceptions, including Christmas Day, and purchase deadlines occur before the draw. Always check the current schedule and closing time.
You can review the available options on the MagicLotto Daily Lotto purchase page .
What Is Daily Lotto MultiPlay 1 (MP1)?
Daily Lotto MultiPlay 1 allows you to select six numbers from 1 to 36 instead of the usual five.
The system then creates every possible five-number combination from those six selected numbers.
This produces six different Daily Lotto combinations for the same draw.
For example, imagine selecting these six numbers:
4, 9, 15, 22, 28, 34
The system creates these six combinations:
- 4, 9, 15, 22, 28
- 4, 9, 15, 22, 34
- 4, 9, 15, 28, 34
- 4, 9, 22, 28, 34
- 4, 15, 22, 28, 34
- 9, 15, 22, 28, 34
Each generated combination is treated as an individual five-number entry for that draw.
MP1 is a convenient way to cover several combinations without entering each one manually.
How Much Does Daily Lotto MP1 Cost?
The current official base price of one standard Daily Lotto combination is R3.
Daily Lotto MP1 creates six combinations.
6 combinations × R3 = R18
Therefore, the official base cost of one Daily Lotto MP1 selection is R18 per draw.
Any applicable service or transaction charges imposed by the purchasing channel are separate from the official base game price.
Customers should review the final amount displayed before confirming a purchase.
MP1 is not a discounted shortcut to better odds. It covers six combinations and costs six times the official standard line price.
Does Daily Lotto MP1 Improve Your Chances of Winning?
MP1 improves your overall ticket-level probability compared with holding just one standard combination, because it covers six combinations instead of one.
However, each individual combination has exactly the same mathematical chance of winning as before.
The Daily Lotto jackpot requires matching all five numbers selected from 36.
There are 376,992 possible five-number combinations.
A standard entry covers one combination, giving jackpot odds of:
1 in 376,992.
MP1 covers six distinct combinations, giving the complete MP1 selection a jackpot probability of:
6 in 376,992, equivalent to 1 in 62,832.
Those improved ticket-level odds come from paying for six combinations rather than one.
MP1 does not guarantee a jackpot or any other prize.

What Are the Daily Lotto Prize Divisions?
South African Daily Lotto has four prize divisions. A standard entry qualifies for a prize when it matches at least two of the five winning numbers.
| Prize Division | Numbers Matched |
|---|---|
| Division 1 | 5 numbers |
| Division 2 | 4 numbers |
| Division 3 | 3 numbers |
| Division 4 | 2 numbers |
Prize amounts vary according to the applicable prize allocation and number of qualifying winners.
Matching two numbers qualifies for the lowest prize division, but the amount is not necessarily the same in every draw.
You can view the latest winning numbers and available prize payouts on the MagicLotto Daily Lotto Results page .
Does the Daily Lotto Jackpot Roll Over?
Daily Lotto uses a special prize roll-down mechanism rather than an ordinary accumulating jackpot structure.
If nobody matches all five numbers, the Division 1 prize allocation moves to the next eligible lower prize division containing winners.
For example, if there is no Match 5 winner but qualifying Match 4 winners exist, the applicable Division 1 allocation moves down according to the official prize rules.
If there are no winners in that division, the allocation can continue to the next lower qualifying division.
In the exceptional situation where no entries qualify in any prize division, the relevant amount can carry forward under the game rules.
This is why Daily Lotto is commonly described as a game with a daily must-be-won prize mechanism.
It does not mean that every ticket wins or that a particular customer is guaranteed a payout.
Can One Daily Lotto MP1 Entry Win Multiple Prizes?
Yes, potentially.
Because MP1 generates six separate five-number combinations, more than one combination could qualify for a prize in the same draw.
For example, if all five winning numbers are contained among your six selected MP1 numbers, one generated combination will match all five winning numbers.
Other generated combinations may also qualify for lower divisions depending on their matches.
The actual winnings depend on the official prize rules and draw results.
This is different from the former Daily Lotto Plus game, which used a separate additional draw.
Can I Still Check Old Daily Lotto Plus Results?
Yes, where historical results are available.
Although Daily Lotto Plus is discontinued, results from draws held before June 2026 remain historical lottery records.
When checking an older ticket, make sure you distinguish between:
- The main Daily Lotto draw.
- The former Daily Lotto Plus draw.
These were separate draws with different winning numbers.
The last Daily Lotto Plus draw took place on 31 May 2026.
If you have an old physical ticket that may contain a winning entry, contact the official National Lottery operator promptly to establish the applicable claim deadline and requirements.
Do not assume that an old prize remains claimable indefinitely.
How Do I Check the Latest Daily Lotto Results?
The current main Daily Lotto draw normally takes place every evening at 21:00 South African Standard Time.
After the official results are available, customers can compare their selected numbers with the five winning numbers.
MagicLotto provides the latest available results, historical draw information and prize breakdowns on its South African Daily Lotto Results page .
You can also use the MagicLotto Lottery Ticket Checker to compare numbers from a physical ticket against stored draw results.
The checker is an informational matching tool. It does not establish ticket ownership or independently claim prizes.
